S&DMRC Newsletter ( 13 )
« on: March 30, 2021, 17:04:06 PM »
First up, l hope you are all cracking on with some modelling (or gardening) and keeping well. As you will have seen on emails that have been sent, the Club is now open to members to ‘escape’ from the house and attend the Club with certain restrictions, the limit on numbers being the main one, especially after today’s announcement (08.09.20) that the maximum number of persons able to ‘meet’ is 6 (subject to social distancing guidelines). Members who wish to attend the Club can do so providing they let me know in advance so that l can keep a track of who is going to be at the Club at any particular time.

CLUB LAYOUTS
Despite the restrictions, activities have continued on layouts at the Club. On Chippenham testing on the trackwork has been completed, with a few small repairs, Alwyn continues to work on the backscenes Peter has completed virtually all the balasting, and the installation of some more automatic Dapol motorised signals is currently being done. Mike and Graham have continued working on the scenery on Bodmin Road, which is proceeding steadily. I have undertaken some minor work on the 0 Gauge, but anymore will have to wait until the Cutlers Junction rebuild is further on.

CUTLERS JUNCTION
Following on from the last Newsletter (No.12) no comments or suggestions were received (other than the amount of work involved – but we are not doing anything else are we!) so plans to dismantle the majority of the existing Cutlers Junction Layout went ahead.
As you can see from the following images virtually everything but the station board have been cleared. There remains enough timber to construct the frames but the old baseboard tops were made of wood fibre insulation board, all these have been removed and Tony has ordered enough 12mm plywood to cover the frames once they have been built.

I will endeavour to do another Newsletter in a few weeks to keep members updated, especially for those who are not able to attend the Club at this time. If you require larger images l can send them by email, let me know. Keep Safe & Keep Modelling.
